Cookie Policy

How the HamroFitness website uses cookies and similar browser storage.

Last updated: 7 October 2026

This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies the HamroFitness website uses, why, and how you can control them. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the website remember things, such as that you are signed in. Websites can also use similar technologies, such as session storage, which keeps a small amount of information in your browser until you close the tab.

Cookies set by the website you are visiting are first-party cookies. Cookies set by another service, such as an analytics provider, are third-party cookies.

2. Our approach

Ordinary visitors to this website get no cookies from us. Our own visit statistics do not use cookies. Cookies are only set when a member of our staff signs in to the website admin area, when you play an embedded video, or if we switch on the optional analytics services described below.

3. Browser storage used for our visit statistics

These items are kept in your browser's session storage. They are not cookies, are not shared with other websites, and are deleted automatically when you close the tab.

  • hf_sid — a random visit ID that groups the pages you view in one tab session, so we can count visits rather than individual page loads. It contains no personal information. Duration: until you close the tab.
  • hf_utm — the campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) from the link you arrived on, if any, so we know which campaign brought you. Duration: until you close the tab.

4. Cookies for staff signing in to the admin area

These first-party cookies are set only for our staff who sign in at /admin to manage the website. They are strictly necessary for signing in and are not used for tracking. Ordinary visitors never receive them.

  • payload-token — keeps a staff member signed in securely. Duration: about 2 hours, or until they sign out.
  • payload-theme — remembers the light or dark theme a staff member chose for the admin area. Duration: up to 1 year.
  • payload-lng — remembers the admin area language. Duration: set by the admin system, until cleared.

5. Embedded YouTube videos

Videos in our gallery that are hosted on YouTube load only when you choose to play one, and they use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). In this mode YouTube says it does not store cookies to personalise your experience just because you view our page, but once you play a video YouTube may store cookies or similar data in your browser. These are controlled by Google under its own privacy and cookie policies.

6. Optional analytics cookies

We may switch on Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand in more detail how the website is used. When they are switched on, they set third-party analytics cookies in your browser. When they are switched off, these cookies are not set.

Google Analytics (Google LLC)

Measures visits, pages viewed, how long people stay and where they come from, using pseudonymous identifiers.

  • _ga — distinguishes visitors. Duration: up to 2 years.
  • _ga_<ID> — keeps the state of the current visit. Duration: up to 2 years.

Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation)

Shows how visitors use pages, including clicks, scrolling and anonymised session recordings and heatmaps, so we can find and fix problems. Clarity masks text you type into forms.

  • _clck — remembers the Clarity visitor ID and preferences. Duration: up to 1 year.
  • _clsk — connects several page views into one recorded visit. Duration: 1 day.
  • CLID — identifies the first time Clarity saw this browser. Duration: up to 1 year.
  • MUID — a Microsoft identifier used across Microsoft services. Duration: up to 1 year.

The exact names and durations of third-party cookies are set by those providers and can change. See Google's and Microsoft's privacy policies for details.

7. How to control cookies

  • Browser settings: most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies and site data. Look in the privacy or security settings of your browser. If you block cookies, the public website will still work; only the staff admin area needs cookies to sign in.
  • Private browsing: a private or incognito window removes cookies and session storage when you close it.
  • Google Analytics opt-out: Google offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics from collecting data on any website.
  • Closing the tab: our own session storage items (hf_sid and hf_utm) are cleared automatically when you close the tab.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if we change the cookies or storage the website uses, for example if we add a new service. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised.
